I remember when they came out. She was my idle and copied her looks and could because I'm Native American, had long hair and her age. When she had the bump taken out of her nose I thought it took from her looks, because, I think she's beautiful and certainly represents us to the highest level. What do you think!

As far as I can calculate she's 1/16th Cherokee, but, who knows.

Two Crows do you remember "Question Mark and the Mysterians", they sang "96 Tears", do you know where they were from and what tribe? Or whoever!

Cher is a member of the Cherokee tribe. I don't know anything about her Armenian ancestry, but I do know that we as Cherokees have high cheekbones. Cher should have left her heritage alone instead of surgically losing it. I've always though she was beautiful, crooked teeth, bump on nose and everything. We are who we are. I am a tribal member of the Cherokee Nation out of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Also, actor, Wes Studi is a member of the Cherokee Tribe out of Tahlequah.

Yep. Cher is part Native American, and very proud of it. She was a striking performer and, with Sonny, set a new high in television peformances. I wish there were shows like that today, instead of the slag and dreck that fills the screen but doesn't entertain.
She's been a beautiful representative for the Native Americans, but also a wonderful role model for younger women. She's never been picked up on DUI charges, or stoned out of her mind and screeching at media reps.
She's honest, forthright, and one heck of a performer.

She never was Indian. It's a modern myth. I'm waiting on an email from the CNO. JUST to finally end this.
Just because somebody sings a song about Indians does not make them one.

Anthrax = indians
The Cult = Ceremony whole album
they're not Skins either.

Yeah I heard that she had some Indian in her. She's also part Armenian. I agree with you about her looks, I thought the nose made her unique but now she looks like everybody else in Hollywood who got a nose job. Can you believe she is about 63 years old! Wow! Time sure flies.

I don't know this for sure, but I thought she said during an interview many years ago, I think she has a little bit of Cherokee. I believe in general she takes after her father's family. She said when she was young she wanted to be a dainty blond but had to be satisfied with her dark exotic looks

One of her great-great grandparents was supposedly Cherokee, but there is no proof of this. Her father is Armenian and that is probably where she gets the high cheekbones and dark hair.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but it looks as though the Native American thing was mostly a marketing tool.

If you look deep enough, you will probably find American Indian in our blood line. I certainly have it...1/16th from my grandfather's side (his father married a full blooded American Indian...the rest of me is German heritage. And I have high cheek bones from that heritage. I do not claim to be Indian, for that is reserved for true American Indians in my opinion...an honor I do not deserve.

I heard her say on a talk show that she was part Apache. Was she telling the truth? Only she knows. What a fabulous looking lady for her age - wish I could afford all that "work".
