She started a film festival in Toronto that i s very successful - the ReelWorld Film Fest, whose focus is presenting and promoting films made by and/or featuring visible minorities.
I had the impression that she was too busy with that as well as getting into producing to return to Y&R full time ( they haven't made her an offer good enough). She was on Y&R recently, for Drucilla's funeral. Drucilla was the role she originally auditioned for, but was subsequently offered Olivia.
Since she is African -Canadian , she has - I think - many more opportunities accessible to her in Canada( as a producer-entrepreneur)than in the US , because of how much the Arts in general are subsidized by the government ( such as grants , etc.) . Canada does invest a lot in the promotion of visible monorities because they consider Canada to be multicultural.... which it is.
Yes D-Love , she was born in England-
but she moved to Canada, went to Ryerson in To, and started her career here. Her wiki page describes her as an African-Canadian (a Canadian citizen, of British extraction, one could say.She probably has US/Canadian dual citizenship....)
... it could be wrong tho (though I doubt it on this point) as wiki definately made one mistake....
She may be 40, but not 50!

They still have her on a recurring status on Y&R. Her profile says she's a Doctor in Africa with "Doctors Without Borders".
PS: She was born in London, England. Not Canada.
