While I have done some term papers on WWII and have an understand of what happened and why I was never very good with dates, which is why pulled in a C plus in History class.

Started September 1, 1939
Ended August 15, 1945 - VJ Day, Victory in Japan

VE Day, Victory in Europe was May 8, 1945

I can relate. Although I can remember the WWII dates, I have trouble remembering the exact start and end of WWI

World War 2 started on September 1, 1939 and ended on September 2, 1945.

WWII ended aboard the USS Missouri with the Japanese signing their surrender.....date Sept. 2, 1945.....

April 1945, Germany capitulates, Hitler snuffs himself
August 1945, US drops bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, Japan surrenders. Same year, different months.
