This basic question is asked quite often, and I share the same answer each time. Firt off, yes I believe in Ghosts, secondly, here is the actual definition as I see it.
A ghost could be described as a number of things, a demon, a lost, or misplaced soul, a shadow from a time past, " not real, but more like a recording", or if you believe in Astral travel, it could be an Astral Traveler.
Astral Travel:Astral projection (or astral travel) is an interpretation of an out-of-body experience achieved either awake or via lucid dreaming or deep meditation. The concept of astral projection assumes the existence of another body, separate from the physical body and capable of traveling non-physical planes. Commonly such planes are called astral, etheric, or spiritual, and is explained in terms of the spirit or astral body leaving the physical body to travel in the spirit world or astral plane. The concept of astral projection has been familiar for thousands of years, dating back to ancient China and other ancient cultures.

I don't believe in much that I haven't seen or experienced. Short of seeing a ghost, I think they're highly improbable. I give more credence to UFOs than ghosts...

i think so called 'ghostly' experiences are actually just people experiencing some physical phenomenon(s) that we have not recognised or figured out yet.
i don't doubt that many people have had strange experiences, however i think there is always a rational explanation for every 'ghostly' happening even if we dont have one just yet.
