i think so. have you ever had sex with a guy that was not circumcised? it is nasty. how it peels back and all....yuck.so i made sure my son was circumcised before we left the hospital. they try and tell you " you don't have to get it done, he'll be okay". f*ck that. no women will want to have sex with him.

I hope not. The myth that it's cleaner is getting old. Just clean it!! or teach your preschooler how to, and he won't have problems. If he's 12 and gets an infection... then you know your kid isn't bathing properly, and should get an embarassing lesson in hygine!
And the part about being embarrassed about how it looks in the locker rooms or w/ sexual partners will not be the same as it has been for those of us born in the 1970s and 80s. I can't find it to quote it now, but I read a publication from the American Academy of Pediatrics about how in the US the numbers are going down. It's about 60% circ'ed and 40% natural now, and they expect in the next 10-20 years for the cosmetic procedure to be rare. Only those with religous reason will continue. This is an American phenomenon - the rest of the world cannot be wrong on this.
"--No national or international medical association recommends routine circumcision.
--Only the USA circumcises the majority of newborn boys without medical or religious reason.
--Circumcision began during the 1800s to prevent masturbation, which was believed to cause disease.
--Today's parents are learning that the foreskin is a normal, protective, functioning organ.
--Today's parents realize circumcision has risks and is unnecessary.
--Circumcision denies a male's right to genital integrity and choice for his own body.

No that does not effect my decision. My husband is uncircumcised because of his religion. But if we were to have a little boy I would get him circumcised.

Pamela, what the heck "peels back?" When a penis is erect, the foreskin is pretty tight.
I have no preference about sex partners, it feels EXACTLY THE SAME! So I saw no reason to cut off a beneficial part of my son's penis.
And it's not cleaner to be circumcised if you teach your kid to freakin' wash himself.

We circumsized our son because we felt it was the right thing to do. Its a choice you have to make.
My biggest thing is that its cleaner, not just in looks. And i didnt want his first sexual experience to be "DEAR GOD WHAT"S WRONG WITH YOUR THING?!!"
He was none the worse for wear having it done. He cried because they held him down and infants naturally want to curl up and feel tight. But thats it.

I had my son circumsized beacuse the literature stated it was easier to keep it clean from infection as an infant.
