It is possible. you have to go through a court process and become emancipated, this will declare you a legal adult before becoming 18. Make sure the state you live in still has these laws - a few have actually repealed them, Iowa notably.

Sure, if you are emancipated by a court.
Otherwise, your parents/guardians may be hands off--but they have final say in anything, and you will probably need them for any legal documents (like an apartment lease) because its far easier for minors to get out of contracts than for adults. Therefore, most businesses won't accept contracts with minors alone without their parent's written consent, unless said minor is emancipated.

If you need or want to get away from home, you might consider programs like Job Corp. This is a federally funded program that provides job training, housing, medical care, and formal education to young students between the ages of 16 and 24.

There are strict rules, but not as serious as the military. This has helped many hundreds of students become independent. I know many students who love it. Please make an appointment to talk to a recruter in your area.

yea but you have to be emancipated and the only way you can do that is if you have a good reason and can prove you can provide for yourself
