The actor who played Robin was the same way. Yet the other regular cast members and the villians knew this yet their identity was never revealed. Batman & Robin hung around together, Bruce Wayne & Dick Grayson hung around together, the actors & their characters talked the same. Why is this? Do they think we are stupid that we won't know the difference?

Probably for the same reason that no one noticed the physical characteristics of Clark Kent and Superman were similar except one wore glasses.

In the series, they have had the butler playing Batman, so unlike some superheros, Batman and Bruce Wayne have been seen in the same spot at the same time.

That's what I loved about Batman: The Animated Series! He sounded so different as Batman and Bruce Wayne. But when they "re-vamped" it as the Gotham Knights series, he just used his Batman voice all the time. Boo.
