I just found out that I am pregnant again, I think about a month, (according to 2 home tests), and I am worried that this could happen again. My daughter weighed only 2 pounds and now has many disabilities. Does anyone know what my chances are, and although I have looked it up, are there any extra things I can do to help prevent it?

many abruptions have no known cause, but feel safe in knowing that its a rare thing to happen, and you can safely carry another baby. My sister had an abruption at 31 weeks, had to deliver via emergeny c-section, and her son spent 7 weeks in the NICU. Three years later she carried her second son to term, had a vbac, and never had a single complication.

Unless they were able to tell you they found a specific cause for the abruption (such as trauma, infection, or uterine malformations, etc.) you are not likely to have another abruption. Naturally, they will probably consider you high risk given your history, but that doesn't mean it will happen again. Many abruptions are just a fluke with no known cause. Sometimes they just happen. Try to stay positive. Every pregnancy is different.

Good luck and congrats!
