Was considering buying a plain dress and embroidering it myself

You can use any pattern of flowers, or a picture of an embroidered wedding dress.

But if will be a lot of work and you will not be able to draw on the material as all lines will be seen.

And on top of that, if the dress is ready made it will be harder to embroider in some places because they are covered on the back by lining, or other materials to strengthen the fabric and shape the dress.

You can of course work on the skirt, but is that what you want?
