Well, even if you only have only 3-4 periods a year (like some new birth control pills) it's enough to rid your body of the blood and tissue. If you don't have ANY in a year, I don't think that's a good thing -- talk to your doctor.

Actually DEPO is not good for the body. Just google "depo provera lawsuit" and check out the reviews on http://www.rateitall.com and you will see a majority of women have had horrible side affects on depo.

I was on it for four years and I am so glad I am OFF of it.

Actually, from what one answerer said, depo will not necessarily make you infertile. People have gotten pregnant ON, immediately AFTER, and then there are some who took quite some time to get pregnant after depo.

It is not good for your body to not actually bleed out old blood. The depo shot will eventually "freeze" your insides to where you can't have children when you are ready to. I got off of it when I found that out. I take Yasmin now, and have no problems with it. I have a 3-4 day menstrual cycle, and that has been like this since i was 16 and got on Yasmin. So eventually you will want to get off of it as soon as you can.

That is what the Depo shot does. There is nothing that says women MUST have their period. You're fine. If you are really worried then call your Dr.
