I really don't understand how people can like what's on the radio now, I mean a few years ago you could get almost half way tolerable songs but now everything is BULLSHlT! They really need to bring Hip-Hop back to the mainstream. My question to all the people who are into what's popular now, why do u like it? I mean do you guys even know who Pete Rock, DJ Premier or The Large Professor are?

True. Very rarely does true hip-hop get on the radio. Today people like:

50 Cent
Lil Wayne
Lil Boosie
Lil Mama
Lil Bow Wow
Yung Joc
Young Jeezy
Hurricane Chris
T.I. (although he has a few decent tracks)
D4L
Dem Franchize Boyz
And plenty more

They should listen to true rap like:
OutKast (especially their 1st 3 albums)
Lupe Fiasco
Common
Talib Kweli
Pete Rock
Cee-Lo
Slick Rick
Nas
Consequence
Kanye west (sometimes)

I agree with what you're saying. The ones that carried on the real hip hop legacy...well, we are getting older now. The younger people are what the radio caters too. It's a new generation of kids that changed the rap game. This generation of young folks are very different then those that I grew up with. They seem to be very concerned with money and they think they are invincible. It's very superficial now. The genuinity has diminished.

Face young homey, the game has changed. It isn'y about the lyrical influence or even a hard beat any more, its all about finding a hook that you can get stuck in someones head. To all of you who think im wrong, i present articles of evidence numbers 1 & 2 peanut butter jelly, and chicken noodle soup. 'Nuff said. And its not that thats what people like, if it was the radio industry wouldn't be suffering as badly as it is, Thats just what corporate america shoves down our throats because a 12 year old likes it it is bullshit artists like Andre nickatina get no love while mike jones sell 3 million copies

yes it is. I never listen to it. I hate all that "ay bay bay" and "like this" crap!

A few months ago my cd player in my car broke so i was forced to listen to radio for a week until i could get it fixed. It was awful, they repeated the same crappy songs 10 times a day!!!!

Ya, just like nas said Hip-Hop is dead. Its all the same crap now-a-days but i guess thats just how it is! the classics are just that, "classics" and the direction hip-hop is going will ultimately kill it.
