Why don't they manufacture all the motherboards with one optimal layout?

Wouldn't that save a lot of effort for the producers as well as the consumers?,at least i would have been able to connect my front panel audio cable.

And put all those electrical engineers out of work? Besides, who would collect the royalties?

It's called planned obsolescence, if they did that then you'd fix not replace a problem. It's how money is made.
