It is extremely hard to be a pro. My daughter was one of the top tennis players in the state. She started at 6, had private lessons since she was 8 and was a natural athelete.

It gets very competitive and you have to practice 4 or so hours every day including weekends. A lot of girls get burned out at 13 and through high school. It is a good life sport however and teaches great lessons in competition and life.

I love tennis and hope you pursue it but with realistic expectations. Enjoy.

First of all, you must know that if you want to be a pro tennis player, you have too be dedicated and committed. There is usually training 3-4 times a week, sometimes more. Unfortunately, your off to a slow start in your career because most people do start lessons at a very young age. But- if you want it go for it! Show the world how good you can be!

GOOD LUCK! and don't give up no matter what anyone else says! you can do it!

Nothing is hard if you practice.
I think its REALLY hard to become a pro athlete in any sport, but nothing is impossible. You have to play tennis when your Very young to become a pro. Im a really good tennis player but im nothing close to a pro, the one thing that I think help me in motivation is the passion for the sport. I got so good at tennis because I loved playing for fun with my friends and I basically researched techniques and learned from them. I made my high school varsity team as a freshman and as a junior i was #1 doubles in the city : ). So if you really wanna be good at this sport your first gonna have 2 build a passion for this sport.
Its a good thing do be devoted to something but do good in school just to have a Plan B, if things dont work out.
Good Luck : )

I think it would be very hard for you to make a pro career out of it unless you start when your a kid and have private lessons your whole life. It's not a hard sport to learn but it is pretty hard to get good. It takes a lot of practice and stamina and trial and error to get shots right.

If you take private lessons, you'll get a great lesson and experience. It's pretty easy, but the rules are kind of confsing :)
