Nobody has come up with anything yet. But, we're all scientifically open minded people. Once they do come up with something, we'll be sure to take notice. However, given the amount of time they've already had with no success, the chances are slim to none that they'll ever come up with anything.

You cant PROVE there is a God - people belive in Him based on FAITH...even you said it ("Please explain to me how a person can have faith in something...") If you believe in Him enough he will reveal himself to you in one way or another. And after He reveals himself to you, you realize its not something that "only exists in [your] mind".

Ever had a bad experience where you thought you were going to die, go to jail or something and made it through, or been through something where you thought someone else wouldnt make it---but they did? Maybe there was a microscopic speck of FAITH that made you believe youd be okay...but why did you have faith that you would be okay? For all you knew (at the time) it was all OVER for you!

Think about it like this...anytime u get a feeling something is going to work out even though you cant explain why or dont have proof, thats your faith working. And sometimes things will get better. Its the same way with God. Its not "faith" if you have proof or evidence---sometimes u jus gotta go with your gut...

Psychologists now have evidence that human beings are born mentally prepared to believe in God. That's why so many people believe.

You see something as complicated as a human being, and it's hard to believe that somebody didn't WANT a human being to exist and create it.

But in fact, amazing things happen by chance all the time.

But our brains are biased toward seeing meaning in things and seeing intentions behind the events of life (because these biases served our ancestors well).

So people are born with a readiness to belive in God, and that's why all cultures have religion.

I don't usually complain about categories (hey, it's easy to click the wrong button in a menu), and I think every question deserves a fair answer no matter where it is, but shouldn't this be in R&S ?

To answer your question, the alternative to not taking someone's word for something, is finding out for yourself. Since you can't be an expert on everything, at some point, there have to be things that you either just admit you don't know and reserve opinion on, or take other people's word for; no one alive has the time or inclination to learn every piece of information there is about everything there is to know.

Some people prefer feeling like they know something, or like a question that's been nagging at them for a while is settled. With stuff that no one's certain about, the easiest way to make that happen, is to take someone's word for something, so that you can let that question go and move on to things you actually want, and can, learn about.

So, that's where faith comes from.

Exactly that! Faith. Faith goes beyond just believing in something. It is KNOWING that God exists. I can look around at creation and see that God exists. I can feel is presence and guidance. Why do we have consciences if there is no God? What reason would there be to have right and wrong things if some being had not instilled that into us?

Now what fun would that be? If you prove beyond a doubt that there is a God, you'll take away one of the greatest mysteries of life. And life without mystery is bland.

Knowing empirically there is God is like being able to read your lover's mind during sex. Trust me it's better have some mystery and let faith fill in gaps.

Yes and NO
the problem is that it is impossible to prove anything entiarly.
even in mathmatics there is a need for exiomas, a fact that can not be proven and is simply agreed apon. who ever proved that 1+1=2? i mean really proved it...
so mathamatically its impossible to prove that god exists... because even if we do some guy can come and say that 1+1 dosent equal 2, thus disproving god.

so if we cant mathmaticaly prove god, maybe we can physicaly?
in order to prove somthing in physics you need that your predictions will statisticly be correct, meaning that if i drop a ball a billion times it will fall down a billion times. this however does not contradict with the fact that on the billionth and 1 time it will fall up.
so simply put, inorder to prove that there is a god, all we need to do is belive there is a god and conduct an experiment to find him. even if the experiment fails it dosent mean that god dosent exist, it simply means that we need to conduct the experiment again... maybe next time the ball will fall up. as long as we try -god both exists and dosent exist.
only when we stop beliving in him will god stop existing
(as long as we all agree that he does exist)

Being born again is definitely real!!!!!

Millions have been and know it's true.

When a person is born again it is something GOD does to the person. They become a new person. It is supernatural. When I went through it, meaning the changes that came with it.......I never in a million years would have done that by myself. It is too hard to explain the supernatural in this world.

Also the word of God says in 1Cor 2:14, "The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned."

When you are born again you receive the Holy Spirit who lives in you and then you could understand the things of God. Now you don't and from the sounds of it you are rejecting Him.

If you are searching for truth then read His Word and pray for Him to reveal Himself. But remember God can not be mocked.

Can anyone prove He doesn't exist?

That's what God is-believing WITHOUT proof. There are certain kinds of proof, I suppose, but many people would dismiss it because their world is based on logic instead of faith. If I'm wrong when I die, then who cares? If I'm right, and go to Heaven (and I do believe in God), I will be pleasantly surprised.

However, it's not my place to judge so whatever you believe is cool with me.

i used to be very skeptical if there was a God and if Satan really existed and if black magic was just a big hoax but i have seen that the Ouija board works and if Ouija board works why the hell cant Satan exist and if there is a Dark evil Satanic side there has to be a Good side... and it just keeps building from there.. Ive also heard my dad and other relatives talk about experiences how they have witnessed exorcisms and they have felt strong presence and people actually talking in weird different languages and objects shaking ... thats all the proof i need
