Mean - the sum of all the numbers in a sample or population, divided by the number of elements in that sample or population. Also called the average.

Median - If all elements in a sample are arranged from lowest to highest, the middle number. Also called the 50th percentile.

Mode - The number that occurs most frequently in a sample. If no number appears more than once, there is no mode.

In a perfectly distributed normal population, the mean, median, and mode are all equal.

Range - The largest number in a sample, minus the smallest.

Numerator - the top number in a fraction. The 3 in 3/4.

Denominator - the bottom number in a fraction. The 4 in 3/4.

Mean is when you add up all the numbers in a group of numbers and divide by how many numbers are in a set
Example:
1,2,3,4,5,6=
1+2+3+4+5+6=21
21/6=3.50
The mean is 3.50.
The median is the middle number of a number set that is in order or when you have a even number of numbers as shown in the set above you add the two middle numbers together then divide by two.
Example of Median for the problem above
3+4=7
7/2=3.50
Mode is the number that is occuring the most in a number set

There is no mode found in this set

Range is the highest number subtract the lowest number
Example of a range
6-1=5
Numerator is the top number in a fraction it tells you how many pieces you have out of the whole fraction
Denominator is the bottom number in a fraction it tells you how many parts make up an item.
For example of a fraction
For Example think of a candy bar
3/5
the three is the numerator because it tells you have 3 parts of the candybar left
the five is the Demoninator tells you how many parts of the candybar you started with.

A trick to remeber the parts of a fraction remeber the words North Dakota
The North pole is on the top of the globe Numerator is the top part of the fraction.
The Dakota is the second word in North Dakota and it starts with a D it is the bottom of the fraction.

Mean = The average value of a group of numbers. You add up all the numbers, then divide by the number of numbers. So if you had 7 numbers, you'd add them up, then divide by 7.

Median = The number in the middle, when you order a group of numbers from smallest to largest. If there are an even number of numbers, you take the mean of the two middle ones.

Mode = The most common number in a group of numbers. If you have this set of numbers:
5, 7, 28, 7, 4, 12, 7, 5, 7, 8, 2, 13
then the mode is 7, because it appears more times than any other number.

Range = The region in-between two end points. If you have a group of numbers, the range of that group is from the smallest number, up to the largest one.

Numerator = The "upper" number in a fraction. In the fraction 2/3, the numerator is 2.

Denominator = The "lower" number in a fraction. In the fraction 2/3, the denominator is 3.

mean: the average of a set of numbers, found by adding all of the numbers together and dividing the sum by the number of numbers.
example). 2, 3, 4, 5
add them: 14
divide by the number of numbers: 14/4
answer: 3.5

median: the middle number in a list of numbers that go from smallest to biggest
example). 2, 3, 4, 5
the middle number is somewhere between 3 and 4 because there is an even number of numbers , so it is 3.5
example 2). 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
the middle number is 4 because there is an odd number of numbers.

mode: the number in a set of numbers that appears the most.
example). 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6
the mode is 5 because it appears the most
example 2). 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
the answer is no mode because each number appears only once
example 3). 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 6
the mode is both 3 and 4 because both occur twice, which is the highest occurence in the set of numbers.

range: the difference between the highest and lowest numbers in a set of numbers
example). 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
the range here is 6 - 2 so it is 4.
example 2). 3, 2, 5, 4, 1
you must put the numbers in order first from smallest to biggest to find the range, unless you can spot the smallest and biggest without putting them in order. the smallest number here is 1 and the biggest is 5. 5-1 = 4. so the range is 4.

numerator: the top number of a fraction
example). 2/3
the numerator is 2 because it is at the top of the fraction

denominator: the bottom number of a fraction
example). 2/3
the denominator is 3 because it is at the bottom of the fraction

***always remember when you have a set of numbers and must find the median, mode, or range, it is best to put them in order from smallest to biggest first before doing anything else.

a million. The recommend is the final of a set of numbers. You upload each and all the numbers up and then divide via the quantity of numbers there are. 2. If there are 2 numbers in the middle then you definitely take the final of them. 3. The mode is the selection that occurs the main circumstances in a set of archives. recommend, median, and mode are the measures of crucial tendency. 4. the type is the set of values a selection could have. it is often distinctive via its optimal and minimum fee. 5. The numerator is the suitable selection in a fragment. 6. The denominator is the backside selection in a fragment.
