Ok, I finally found a place 2 do downloads, and I downloaded WinZip, but now when I open up the game, they aren't showing. Plus, when I downloaded new houses, they appear in the Lots BIN, but when it starts to load, the game always closes down, can someone help?

You have to unzip the files before you put them into your Downloads folder (if you have one). The Downloads folder is located under your EA Games folder, in the Sims2 folder, then where all the files are listed, you should have a folder called "Downloads" with a capital D. If you don't, you can make one, but make sure you use the capital D.

To unzip, right click a file, the click on "extract to...", then pick where you want the file to go to (Downloads folder). Unless the file needs a mesh to with it, it should show up in your game.

Now, as for the lots, if they are making your game crash when you start up, there could be a corrupt file. You'll need to get rid of that lot. Plus, make sure the lots you download are actually playable for your game. Do you have any or all of the expansion packs? If not, then you need to make sure that a lot you are downloading does not contain an expansion pack or stuff pack, that you don't have. If it does, you won't be able to play that lot at all.

If you need anymore help, check out thesims2.com website. There are a lot of great people on the forums that can answer your questions and can help you out.

After you unzip the file [I'm assuming you have? If not, double click on the zipped folder and click "extract files" on the left].

Go to My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads [if downloads is not a folder, then create one] and copy and paste what was inside the zip folder [now an extracted regular folder] into the downloads folder.

Make sure that the site you downloaded it FROM is compatible with the expansion packs you have, if any.

You have probably downloaded a house or lot that contains custom content that is not compatible with the version of Sims 2 that you are playing. Go to modthesims2.com and find the link to download a program called Clean Installer. Clean Installer will let you preview the lot before it is installed and let you remove content while still maintaining the house and lot. You need to remove the lots and houses you have already installed and reinstall them using the CI.

You have to activate your new objects at options or something. Say 'display custom content menu' and next time you start up, tick the objects you want to see appear in the game.
