Some do. In the Cordilleras, it is part of the indigenous people's ritual to eat dog meat. Apart from this, they claim that eating the meat help them keep their bodies warm, as it is cold in the mountain ranges.

Some people do. In the mountain province, it is not even considered wrong - - - it is part of their culture.

Thsi is not only true in the Philippines. In South Korea, dogs are actually raised for food, the way hogs, cattle, and chicken are raised. There is no relationship with dogs as pets, because they were never pets, they were raised as food. During the Seoul Olympics, the government momentarily banned the sale of dog meat so that the outside world will not be so offended.

Yes, they do. Some eat it as part of their meat selection, and some out of dire need, some for the thrill of it and some as finger food in drinking sessions.

Get this... in Developed countries, dogs are required to have shot to prevent rabies and other diseases. Here in the Philippines, The law requiring those things have just been signed by the President a couple of months ago. dogs here are not regulated and monitored. The feeling of warmth after ingesting dog meat comes from the immune system trying to fight off bacteria contained in the meat.

YUCK!!!!

There is already a law in the Philippines that forbid dog eating (under Republic Act 8485 enacted in 1998). However it is still prevalent in the Cordillera region. A mountain region in Luzon Island. They say it is already part of their culture. Though they do not openly sell the dog meat in the market unlike in Korea where dog meat is sold legally.

Check this website about the Philippine Animal Welfare Act of 1998.

Meat is meat ! Is it any less cruel to eat a chicken or pig ? If americans all kept chickens as pets then there would be pressure to stop eating them as well ! I have tasted dog meat in Phil and it was acually quite good
