i have a 2000 gmc sierra 1500 and a while ago the gas gage stopped working, it either stays on full or empty depends what the truck is doing, and when im just parked or idling then it goes back and forth, is there somethng i can do or is it bigger??... if u need more info let me know... my space is limited on here

Sounds like the float in your gas tank is messed up. You will have to drop the tank to fix it. Not recommended unless you have the fire safety equipment needed on hand.

Buy or borrow a shop manual, usually you can determine if the problem is sender or gage by using an ohm meter on the gage leads.

try the fuse or you will need new sending unit the float filler up with gas or just went bad
