EXACTLY! I met this awesome Israeli girl over the weekend...and she invited me to come home with her to Israeli for a visit (Yay!)--but I haven't been there since 2004...and my Hebrew wasn't so great to begin with. Anyway...how fantastic would it be to download a language into your brain...just like that!

SHESPAW: I know exactly what you mean by the Goggle tangents. Oh and the Bookmarks, Windows and Tabs! Even when buying antioxidants...I need to understand exactly how they bind to the free radicals—right down to the chemistry.
“I don't just want to know the surface I want to know it all and there isn't enough time in the day to learn it all.” Yup...you want to know the...but why, but why, but why...
I want to hear more about this sleep-learning. Maybe you will find time during one of your sleepless nights to come tell me about it. :-)
“I agree with Lord Z, the ability to learn at the speed of light would be ideal.” YES!

you are right.. I feel too loaded to digest the inslaught of the information in to my head which is so slow.. and I also feel that there has to be a faster way than 5 sensory input.
I have also heard that scientific research is done to get child , student, man learn faster in sleep time...
there is also another way of learning that is through hypnosis . but that is also again a sort of sleep learning..
but here , the sense of hearing will come into play as you can not learn without your brain getting the information either via audio or video. In sleep audio is used and that goes via Ears .so that too is one sense..
but your question may also be hinting at the Chips being introduced and fitted into Brain directly ...
science is wonder as well as curse too .. only time can tell what is what..

Yes, right now, I am studying for a marathom biology test on Monday with a lab test on Wed and I can't get the information to my head fast enough! My biggest problem is I find some interesting tidbit (we are learning about plants) and instead of just learning what I need for the test I google a tangent, biology is truly fascinating... did you know that artichokes have flowers? How about plants having sex?!??! Well they do, what was I talking about.... oh tangents... you see I don't just want to know the surface I want to know it all and there isn't enough time in the day to learn it all. I get that way with psychology too. I have started to try and learn in my sleep by listening to information while I sleep, it makes for interesting dreams. I agree with Lord Z, the ability to learn at the speed of light would be ideal.

We're an impatient bunch aren't we? We want everything instant...fast food, downloads, etc. No there's no way to input information into our brains like a computer...not yet anyway. Perhaps someday we will be able to just hook wires up to our skulls and absorb an encylopedic knowledge of any subject within seconds...but for now, we have to learn the slow way, reading, seeing, hearing, experiencing. But hey, it can be fun. That's what keeps life interesting. You're constantly taking in information of some sort, even when you're not aware of it. We shouldn't be in such a hurry. We may miss the little things. Sometimes they're the best things.

"I am sorry but the brain that you are searching for is temporarily shut down for planned maintenance. Please call back when this brain has forgotten more of what it thouht it knew. And now beautiful Muzac: "...if you like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain...."
The answer is always.
The latest theory for all the wannabee science fiction writers out there is optical transfer. Assume you could transfer knowledge at the speed of light, how much quicker could you learn. We use sound for much of our communications but light travels faster. What if the eyes really are the mirror to the soul. Could you take that pathway and use it to speed up your thought processes, to bring in more input, to expand and define your mind?
It is not that our inputs are crude of insufficient but rather that we have no idea how to use them to their fullest potential.
Now, hurry it up and start writing those scripts. This is a no brainer, (pun intended), just figure out a way to emit language through light. Think Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind but much faster tranfer than what they portrayed in that movie.
And in case you have not figured it out by yet, if you simplify the languages we use you also speed up the transfer of knowledge. Light would just be a new language so to speak.
and now back to static. "bcbcdjvbsdvbsdvbsdvbfdvbffvbwvb............."

Many people don´t even use a 1 sensory input.
If I want information,I find it with a search engine(and if it´s important ,I download it...
Info on the net can disappear,be changed or illegal to look at at a later time (similar as in the book 1984-Have you read it? If not , DO!!! It will be illegal to read soon or later...Don´t get the DVD;read 1984 )
Another cool book for your taste should be "brave new world"
Back to your Q.What I keep in my brain is "street smartness" and languages
3 of them fluent and 3 soso...
Take care

A craving for information is no different than any other addictive behaviour. The desire to be intelligent, enlightened, smart, etc. is a great way to offset any feelings of inferiority.

yes it happens sometimes. you can't get much enough information, you feel that you can get information and collect it faster than a PC or some sci intelligence. it is the power of human mind, unprodectable.
