I have a Dodge Ram 1500 and their is a leak in the brake line. I went to mechanic and he told me that the brake line needs to be replaced. I want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off. How much should it cost to replace a brake line-labor plus parts.

find out which line needs to be replaced first, for there are more than a few. Call a reputable auto parts supplier and find out the price of the replacement part. once you've done that, ask your mechanic what he charges hourly for labor. The total cost should only be the price for the part plus no more than one hour of the labor cost.

It's really to your advantage and safety to rebuild lines from the master cylinder all the way back and across your third member. Carefully inspect the brake hoses for cracks and checking. That way you'll be 100% protected.
An independant mechanic could do it in 2-3 hrs. and lines and fittings without houses would cost $40.- $50. These parts are not cheap. Add them up and your looking at $200. - $220. While your at it inspect the front lines for rust and corrosion.

Just depends
being that it is an american made truck it should be no more then 75$ but it also depends how hard it is to get to the line and how bad everythign is.but it should not be over $75.also try to get top of the line parts,if you can that is.just try not to use the cheapest part they offer or you can find.you dont have to buy the best but you dont want the cheapest either.
