Mike Vick didnt just fight dogs, he killed dogs. He tortured them, starved them, electrocuted them, and hung them to name a few examples of the inhumane things he did to the dogs. Hunting is different because the prey is killed not tortured. I understand you're upset that you lost your star QB. Im a Titan fan and Im upset we lost Pacman. Just because he's your star player, that doesnt mean any crime he commits is not a big deal. Dogfighting is horrible. On top of that he denies the whole thing. Sure some people are overreacting to the situation. But that doesnt mean they are wrong in being mad at Mike. There were witnessess who saw him do fight dogs. He will get his due process, but he will most likely go to jail. People rally and protest for Vick to be suspended by the NFL. The new suspension policy was designed for repeat offenders. They evidently dont know this or dont care. He's most likely guilty but I agree with he should be given his due process.

Murdering animals is bad enough but the guy also is lying about having known about it and is letting everything fall on his family and friends also involved. Hes a real piece of work. If he didnt have anything to do with it or didnt know about it like he said he doesn't then it will all play out that way. Hunting is for sport and there are illegal ways of hunting called poaching and you cant hunt out of season. Dogfighting is underground for a reason: because it's against the law. Don't pretend like the people who do it are the victims. They're the ones sneaking around lying, anything they need to do to gamble. I agree that the protesters should just stop and find something better to do though. There is no need to riot over this.

I'm all in favor of due process, and I agree that the protests are at a minimum premature. If you don't know the difference between hunting and dogfighting, though, I do feel a bit sorry for you. You've missed out on the world's greatest method of conservation of wildlife. Perhaps you could talk to some hunters or game biologists about it. The hunter loves his game, and the ethics are completely opposite those of dogfighting.

Hunting is not any better in my opinion. People trip all the time when someone like Vick gets in trouble. It's not racist. He just did something wrong, and since he's who he is, its everywhere. I try to ignore it now because every news channel, MTV everwhere is Vick and dog fighting. He is innocent until proven guilty and I'm not gonna sit here and say he's guilty and should go to jail, until i hear "We find Michael Vick guilty", then i'll start talkking. I did the samre thing on the Duke Lacrosse thing. I was wrng and was shut up. So, i dont do that anymore. Hunting is still killing, but its legal so who cares.

Hunting is in no way similar-
Wild game has a normal life until it is harvested by a sportsmen. Fighting dogs are treated cruelly and trained for aggression from their birth. Hunters kill an animal and in turn harvest the flesh of that animal for food. Fighting dogs are killed simply for blood lust. A hunter takes pleasure in a successful hunt that puts meat on his table, but I know of no hunter who enjoys watching the life drain out of the animal he just killed (I'm sure there a minority who do) . The indictment against Vick details methods of animal disposal that are designed for the satisfaction of the killer, electrocution, shooting, strangulation and beating, and their search for new ways to cause death. If more people hunted I think their would be a greater appreciation of life and the meat on your table and the leather product you wear.
Question #2- this is classic 21st century irresponsibility. If my child does something illegal in my house, I am responsible. If I allow someone to use my car and someone is killed with it, I am responsible. If Vick didn't know about it he should not be held accountable, but to have any knowledge of the situation requires action to be taken by the property owner. It is not enough to say "well, you do what you want- I don't want to be involved" To not take action against immoral, illegal or unethical behavior is tantamount to participation.

People hunt to prevent over population and PETA knows this. if people did not hunt deer, the over population would bring disease and I'm sure u do not want to hit one of them with your car, its the same with all animals that get hunted. there is a difference with your grandma, she wasn't living there. if she was that yes we might think she was involved. people are reacting this way, because what was going on at his place is a serious offense. even if he wasn't involved, he lived there how could he NOT know it wasn't going on. he will go to court and we will see what happens. but people are gonna be pushing for prison time, since the feds have been watching him for sometime..
2nd thought.... if this was a white man that did this, would you be defending him as much, or would u be reacting how the rest of the country is?

Brother, your dead on about giving Vick due process. Ethically the charges will enrage the entire country for a very long time. Hopefully, this case brings the blood sport to the forefront of the media's minds and the authorities shut this illegal gambling ring down.

So lets just put our head in the sand and pretend that these violent acts to our living creatures aren't happening? It doesn't matter if it is our dog or not!!!!!!!!!! It is up to people to protect the animals. Michael Vick needs to be put in prison for life, for the abuse and torture of these pit-bulls! These animals did not ask the idiot for the torture and abuse and death the endured. Michael Vick knows what is going on! He has over 30 dogs buried on his property (HE PURCHASE THE EXTRA LAND FOR THE DOG FIGHTING) & for those violent acts-fighting-starvation, electrocution, drowning, etc.... Need I say more! His associates said that they would get Michael Vicks permission to do these things!
You can't compare this beast of a person to your grandmother, Her situation is completely different.
Anyone that murders or hurts pets, needs a stiff stiff penalty and they should be banned for life to own another pet.
I am involved in protecting animals and I will turn in anyone whom I suspect of this crime. It sickens me when I hear about these stories, hunters, people who love their furs-They have no idea what the poor animals had to go through before their death. It is time for us to get real and become involved!

If you cant see PETA trying to stop people from hunting and fishing, your blind. how do we know mike vick is involved, hes a known pit bull breeder, some of the dogs confiscated are his, hes known to make wagers at dog fights. the list goes on and on. do you think the federal goverment would have indicted him if they didnt have any evidence against him. I dont think he deserves life in prison, or to be hung, but if he is convicted, 7- 15 yrs would make me happy. plus it would send a message to all of those out there fighting dogs.

You are right... I think hunting is just as barbaric as dog fighting, and trust me the PETA people go after hunters as well.
You are also right that Vick deserves his day in court, and we shouldn't pass judgment on him until a verdict is handed down.
However, if it comes out to be true that he hung, drowned, and electrocuted dogs then I hope he gets the harshest punishment possible.
