Inertia.
It was going round from the start, and there is nothing to stop it, so it keeps going.

The world goes 'round because each bit of material from which it was formed had its own velocity (speed + direction). Unless each of these velocities summed to exactly zero (i.e. cancelled each other out) the imbalance imparted some rotational momentum to the whole.

As Vincent G stated above, due to inertia, once the rotation started there has been nothing to stop it.

This also answers dansinger61's followup question. All bodies rotate if the velocities of their component parts were unbalanced during their formation. It would be so improbable as to be nearly impossible for such velocities to balance to precisely zero.

All bodies rotate, they don't all rotate in the same direction.

Vincent's answer is essentially correct. But one can further ask why was it going around at the start. What force imparted the original angular momentum to the solar system (and to all other known massive bodies in the universe). Clearly since EVERYTHING rotates, there must be some fundamental principle in play that causes it, but I don't know what the principle is. Any takers?
