In the Tampa Bay area 2 young boys are dead and their mother is sick from carbon monoxide poisoning. Only a couple of weeks later anouther family almost died and was only saved because one youngster wanted water during the night and woke his parents. All this because two different people left their cars running in the garage by mistake overnight. How the *$^#*% do you leave your car running by mistake??!! How absent minded can people be? I realize this is just a rhetorical question but it's so hard to hear about children dying so stupidly. Turning the key off after puttig the car in park is second nature to me - like breathing. What is wrong with these people?

It's not something that you should do often but you haven't caused any damage to yourself yet. Your garage is large enough to keep the carbon monoxide from building to a dangerous level before you opened the door to vent it. You should try to be more careful in the future, it appears no harm has been done so far.

Common sence is not something all people have. This thing of leaveing cars running in a garage makes most of us sick to think about. The loss of life from such a stupid action can never be explaned so we will ever know why this ever has to happen again.

Stupidity has a way of being clensed from the gene pool.

These are tragedies but caused my inattention. A simple carbon monoxide sensor would have saved them all.

Aw that's so sad! Imagine how the people who left the cars on felt! Yeah it would be extremely hard to forget something like that.

On my Volvo, if I have the key in the ignition and open the door, the warning bell starts chiming.
Such a system might help.

Sad. It is because the whole world is living in too fast a pace.
It is much easier to forget things.
