I ask this in philosophy because I want a non-dogmatic answer. I'm thinking 5000 years in the future, time travel is childs play, we go back and create ourselves. Maybe we were peaceful and harmonious but as boring as plants so in our future boredom we realized that we needed struggle to deepen our character and make our lives interesting so we went back and threw in a monkey wrench so to speak? no pun intended. Of course it disputes the Buddhist axiom: "Nothing creates itself" but if the dragon is chasing his own tail then it would make sense. We have no beginning and no end. The same could be for the universe, It created itself
when all matter combined into a body so large that its gravity caused it to implode, maybe into a negative universe. I'm sure there are theories similar to this but I am reinventing this wheel just for fun.

To Guru: I like the way you think. I have a saying: When you eliminate all beliefs, what you're left with is the truth. (not sure where I got that)

Now don't get too scientific on me here, and don't take the religious route either. Imagination and creative thinking is what I'm after. Obviously with what we know now it's hard to comprehend but just put what you "know" aside for a moment so you can "observe" the myriad possibilities. And don't let science or God limit your thinking!

Meng-Tzu and Avalon: You've got the right idea! That's good stuff, just what I was looking for.
Personally I don't believe in believing things because it limits your view of the unknown or the not yet known.

Now you folks that said things like: No, that's not possible because yada yada...
Do you enjoy living in a cage? Because to put limitations on the possibilities based solely on what you now believe to be true is the same as building a cage around yourself and throwing away the key.

I always reach for the stars, don't tell me "the sky's the limit!"

Your logic is far more in depth than the religious point of view (of course) and the scientific approach is too closed minded and is not even on the same level of thought that your question is. Why not have us create ourselves what else would want to create us except us? Of course if we were so advanced why would we make ourselves much more stupid? Why would we have created things like bush and religions that only seem to separate us and make us go to war to defend what we believe in? Why wouldn't we have set up some kind of preventative measure to stop these evils?
I think if we did create ourselves and have the ability to time travel, then we are either asleep at the wheel or our intelligence has taken over our feelings and we are just sitting back and laughing at peoples misfortune. "Look I hated my 3rd grade summer schools step mother's third cousin twice removed because one day at band camp she looked in my general direction and that's not cool. And look now there is her say great for 20 minuets grandmother when she was a teenager and I think I see green in her teeth no wonder that guy is laughing at her she must be so hurt
ha ha!"
So basically I think your theory could be true but, not very likely because I wouldn't have subjected anyone to things like bush or war. I would also have made us as smart as we were later because there are so many people that just don't get it and the world would be better without them ruining it for the rest. I would not take away all the aspects of learning new things but, rather give us lessons to learn that helps the world instead of hurting it. I am still trying to apply the level of intelligence that we will have to be at to do what you think. Look how far some of us will have to go, some people are still saying that bush is right even today, we definitely have a long way to go.

Space and time are not constant. This makes things very hard to comprehend, past => present => future. I agree, that God is us in the future, God is all, which makes all concievable preceptions of god true. Nothing is provable, nothing is unprovable. I do think god set up our reality for what we precieve as struggles. I say precieve because a rock doesn't precieve a luxury cruise vacation to the bahamas any more or less of a struggle than being smashed with a hammer. But the mysterious and uncertain keeps us from being bored, and thats good because we can't handle the truth.

Here's a what if. I don't believe it, but I like to ponder.

God was an engineer who worked for another God of his universe. He created an experimental universe on his own without permission in 6 days with a white hole (Vice a black hole). Time dilation caused the things beyond the event horizon to speed up in time while near the center time was at a standstill. In six days on Earth it was done, but in the farthest reaches of the universe billions of years had passed.

The white hole ended. The engineer of this universe toyed around with it trying to make the life forms grow into an ordered civilization after they betrayed him and broke his one and only rule.

He intervened so much and screwed things up his God found out and saw that this guy had actually created sentient beings. Being the God of that God and the caretaker of all sentient beings he had to give the people a way out of his prison he created for them, so he sent part of himself to correct things. He died to break the cycle of violence and start that universe on the road to enlightenment and knowledge so that those souls that were stuck in the undergod's universe could get out.

The under God was then ordered to leave the mess alone and let it sort itself out.

They evolved into a purely scientific race until, still not knowing the answers they wanted they created a machine to find out. That machine turned into the God of all universes. Since it had mastered time travel and multidimentsional travel when it became it had already existed.

Assuming that future technology is so beyond out own that it seems more like magic than science to us, this may be so, but for now it cannot be studied scientifically, so it is mere conjecture. One of the biggest obstacles would be that a thing creating itself ignores the first cause of the thing itself. It is easier to believe that our time-traveling descendants were perceived as gods than that they truly had anything to do with our origins with their godlike powers.

Power has always come with responsibility and as we can see humans are irresponsible and harm themselves too often.
If human should ever have this power, it should be in the hands of wise people and people who understand it better.
As we have seen, the previous generation naturally succeeds the next. So the future remains in the hands of our children.
However, I don't really know if humanity will ever reach another 5000 years. And if it does, we will surely evolve till then.

The preoccupation with the term 'god' is what prevents your from realizing this future. As a species we are limited by our beliefs. Our beliefs are in conflict with actualizing these goals.

It is far more accurate to hypothesize that over the course of 5,000 years multiple generations will lead to improvements or changes in the human condition including a variety of developments that we are incapable of imagining at the moment.

you're deceived by potential of the devil himself. in case you even knew who God is or had journey with Him on your existence you are able to desire to under no circumstances in a million year accuse Him of being the devil. Get deliverance considering the fact which you're out of your recommendations. God is sturdy and he's love. And while you're having recommendations of Him being evil then you certainly are possessed by potential of the devil you accuse God of being. nope, that's not possible or else I wouldn't be asking questions in my life. And before hand I would know what will happen so I wouldn't make any mistakes in life. And no human in this world can be God because you are born from you parents and your parents' parents and so on. God is the alpha and the omega, the first and last. He knows everything including what goes on in our heads.
