According to the Mayo Clinic, your risk for significant chromosome abnormalities rises to 1 out of 192 births when you reach 35. That's compared to 1 out of 496 when your are 25.

While you stand a slightly lower chance of having a child with abnormalities when you're about 20-24, you have to also consider emotional and financial readiness. I would say that the perfect age differs from person to person and that one should take all factors into consideration when making this important decision.

I would say 20-30s I heard after 30 that there are more complications. Also you have to be ready to devote yourself if you have a child it is a huge responsibility. I was 17 when I got pregnant everything was great except I was too young I didn't to have a normal social life, no experience with kids, didn't want one at that age, and didn't realize how much responsibility it takes. But no regrets I love my daughter with all my heart. I am glad I had her even though I was young it just made me grow up and be more responsible for not only 1 but 2 people. Have children when you and your partner are ready. I hope this helps

Biologically, the best ages are approximately 18-25. Responsibly, I'd have to say between 24-28. It's easier on your body (both birth and recovery) and research has shown that there are other benefits such as less incidence of breast cancer. Plus you have more energy to chase after them and will increase the likelihood of being an active grandparent when the time comes. I had mine at 25 and 28 and I look forward to being a grandparent one day as well.

The younger the better. Teh best child bearing years are 18-30, thats when your body is best able to carry children.

Young girls recover very quickly, but it does tax their bodies a great deal. Older women have a higher risk of birth defect and miscarriage.

As I understand it, the younger the better. The older women get, the risks of diseases like down syndrome get higher. Twenties is ideal, thirties is great, forties is pushing it but still okay. Past that, do you really want to be in the news as the grandma who had her daughter's egg implanted in her uterus and carried the baby for her? I mean, talk about spoiling your kids...

Having babies after the age of 35 increases the likelyhood of the baby having defects like aspergers syndrome and other syndromes.
