I dont know if this has anything else to do with it, but after I have been driving a long while and I park, I notice smoke coming out of the hood. I cant tell where it is, but it seems to be coming from next to my engine.
I am going to see mechanic today, but I kinda wanna know what might be going on beofre hand, any ideas? btw, it is a 1994 mazda mpv

"Something" is seeping out. I just got an oil change from Grease Monkey,(bad I know). They check for leaks to, and they said everytihng is fine. They lie though because my car always drips. The burnt stuff is black. Its not antifreeze, and I dont really know what oil smells like, so maybe.

How long has it been since you've had a good tune up?
-I dont know, but again, I got oil change and "check-up" just 2 days ago. Still smokes

Does it use any oil to speak of?
-It uses high mileage oil, (OLD CAR)

Are you having to constantly be putting water in the radiator?
-No

Is the power steering pump leaking and slinging onto the engine's exhaust pipes? I dont know. Greasemonkey said no leaks, but I am taking to to a very trusty mechanic today.

Those are some things you can look at to pin point the problem before taking it to the shop.
Unless you absolutely trust the mechanic after her diagnoses the problem take it to another shop you know for a second opinion.

i dont think i got what youre talking about, but youve said theres a smoke came out the hood, it might be the radiator, youre overheated, or youve got a loose exhaust manifold or theres a burned wirings. and if youre telling me that your check engine light comes on, and it stalls, you might have a worn distributor, or the other sensors.
what car does you have?

What kind of smoke? Does it smell like oil or antifreeze? or something else?

YOU HAVE DONE ALL THAT I COULD HAVE TOLD YOU SO...

TRY FINDING AN INDEPENDENT SHOP INSTEAD OF THE DEALER OR A CHAIN STORE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE OVERALL MORE PLEASED WITH THE FINDINGS AND THE SERVICE.

LEAVE IT THERE WITH THEM SO THAT THEY CAN FIND THE PROBLEM FOR YOU, IT WILL BE A LOT BETTER THAN JUST REPLACING PART AFTER PART AND NOT DOING ANY GOOD.
