I am quite good at acting, but i am new to the business. Could you tell me about acting auditions. I would like to know if there are any film festivals or acting auditions for TV or a movie going on near chicago.

Yep, most people who are new to the business think they are quite good at it, but that isn't good enough. You have to be terrific at it to be a professional actor and you have to be terrific looking as well, then you have to know how to find a job, which you do not know how to do. Call the film/television department at your local colleges to ask about casting for student films.
Check www. backstage.com for audition listings in your area.
