Some people are just born from people who should never have been parents. Plan and simple.

Although I don't fight the gay/straight battle with my parents, I have other issues. I call them the cactus people because no matter how close they want to get to you, they hurt you.

There was a book out called "Toxic People" or some such thing. Perhaps your mom is one of those people who are just plain poisonous.

You can always say to her face, "Mom, I love you. Why do you always say things that show you hate me?"

Counseling might be the best step.

Give it time. I know that you may want her to accept it right away with no problems but some parents take longer. Some never come around. Enjoy being who you are, you don't need anyone's acceptance except your own. Talk with your friends about the situation, they may have been through the same way. If she doesn't like it right now, dont bring it up until you feel you can have a decent adult conversation about it.
You are probably feeling hurt, and you may for awhile. Take solace in that you will have friends and other people in your life that will love you and accept every aspect of you.

Take care, and stay strong.

I guess you need to make a stand. Tell her that unless she stops with all the comments, you'll be moving out and leaving her in the past where she belongs! If she won't stop, then do it.

your her child, she will learn to like it. when my mom first found out that one of my sisters was a lesbian she didnt like it, then she grew to like the girl better than any man my sister had been with. just give her space and time, she will be ok.

It's always so pitiful to hear stories like that, I'm sorry. People need to be more openminded

Depends how old you are... maybe she thinks you don't know differences between "yellow & purple".
