Infinity - peace - quiet joy - freedom - meditation - floating - daydreaming - creativity - lateral thinking. I could go on. There's so far to go, with blue. Although the direction depends a bit on what kind of blue - from the cerulean blue of a sunlit sky, to the indigo of deep sea or space and night. But for me they are all gloriously beautiful, unconfined, and go on forever. And blue can be warm and luscious, or cold and chill, spanning sensation as few other colors can. And blue is like a tremolo in music - the appropriate hue and tonal value can add a vibrancy to all the other colors, either as an associate, or in the mix (e.g. blue green). Of course I never see just a "pure" blue - there's always a hint of other colors, especially in the daylight sky which is full of subtle lights and reflections from yellow to ochre and crimson (but so faintly many people don't notice them). Ah - blue, lovely, glorious blue. Many seem fond of it, but I think one has to "let go" to truly enjoy it and hear its music, and that can be alarming for some people. Perhaps that's why it is so attractive with earth colors like orange or ochre to anchor it, as in van Gogh. But I like to fly ...

The ocean and the sky............ Cliche, I know. But as soon as I read your question, I got an image of when I was younger. My first time at the beach and how my life has changed so far.
Recently, I have been fighting this battle with myself that I fear I am losing. I am a lesbian, and I am trying to cope with this. When I feel like this, I think back to how life used to be and how I may never be accepted because of this. I pray that one day people will come to terms with this and that one day I can come out.
Its funny how something so little like a color can remind you of things like this.

The infinite sky, the deep seas, and the vast oceans .
The colour blue signifies distance, love, peace, and happiness.
Philosophically, the colour blue allows us to look beyond and increase our perspective outward. The blue sky seems to beckon us to look ahead in life - always upright.

Bruckner--The Hunter's Scherzo, French horns.
Vaughn Williams--A Sea Symphony:
A Song for All Seas, All Ships
Behold, the sea itself, and on its limitless heaving breast,
the ships;
See, where their white sails, bellying in the wind, speckle
the green and blue
See, the steamers coming and going, steaming in or out
of port,
See, dusky undulating, the long pennants of smoke.
Behold, the sea itself,
And on its limitless heaving breast, the ships.
If you've haven't heard it, sung by the London Philharmonic Choir, you'll have no idea of its overwhelming beauty.

Blue : blue the colour that heals. The colour that gives comfort when uncomfortable. A colour that gives love when unaccepted. A sparkling inner light that glows in the darkness of insecurity. A colour that many people may think represants sadness...but I truley think it represents the true form of a STARGIRL.
