If the NFL scheduling is based upon playing your own division twice a year and then rotating 1 game in an AFC division and an NFC division, how is it that these two teams have met for 5 years straight, in reg season play, if you include 2007? Is there any other teams that meet every year but are not in the same division?

You people appearently know NOTHING about the current version of the NFL Schedule. The NFL NO LONGER MAKES THE SCHEDULE. In the old days YES they would have set this match up because it would get ratings. Back in those days the NFL paired up basically whoever they felt like. Well that was changed. The schedule is now 2 games against Division(Home and Away) for 6 games. Play one of the AFC Divisions for 4 games. Play an NFC Division for 4 games. So we are to 14 games. Now this is why these two teams keep meeting. The OTHER 2 GAMES are against the teams in your Conference that finished AT THE SAME RANK IN THEIR DIVISION. In other words the teams that win their division will all play each other at some point during the year. The AFC North keeps changing the winner and the AFC West has changed their division winner so that is why only these two are like that. They are in divisions that aren't as good and they keep winning the division.

Common this is NFL marketing ploy to get some good rating for TV. These are the two premier program right now in the NFL, these team play each other the rating go thru the roof and why not pitted 2 of the league best QB's against each other. And if one of the team lose in the regular season they can have a great revenge game in the playoff. All it is a great marketing tools for the NFL to have 2 powers house teams against each other.

they both win their division every year---a team's schedule is like this-----
take the raiders for instance------last place, afc west-----
the afc west will play one division in their own conference and one in the other conference, which this yr, for the afc west, are the nfc north (det, gb, min, chi), and the afc south (ind, jax, ten, hou)---thats 8 games right there----they also play 2 games against each team in their own division (sd, den, kc), which is 6 more, totalling 14, leaving 2 remaining----since they already play the afc south and they are in the afc west, that leaves 2 afc divisions (north and east)--since the raiders finished in last place in 2006, they will play the 2 last place teams from those divisions (miami and cleveland)---therefore, two division winners in the same conference will play eachother no matter what

The winners of each division play the winners of the other divions within their conference. The second place finishers play each other and so forth. You can tell who plays who the next year as soon as the regular season is over.

Remember that NFL officials also schedule the games based on which one would be most attractive to be played on TV. For the last 5 years Colts and Patriots have maintained a solid level of play making this one of the most attractive match ups in the league.

They have both been in the first tier every year since then.
It is pretty simple. You play all four teams from one division in your conference and then you play the 2 other teams who finished at the same level.
