We all assume that this country is based on "innocent until proven guilty" but reality is "guilty until proven innocent". Doesn't matter if Vick is found innocent, the fact that he was ACCUSED is enough for most people- black or white. Us blacks know that they system we live in is flawed- which is why we fight everyday for equality for all..Unfortunately for white people, it takes something big (Duke Lacrosse or O.J.) for them to understand the reality of the system. Hopefully one day we will all come together and straighten out this flawed judicial system.

Yes Michael Vick is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. However, a court of law is entirely different then the court of public opinion. Keep in mind a few things - the reason it looks like middle aged white people are most of the ones saying he's guilty is because most of the media is middle aged white people. I would wonder if, let's just sat it was Tom Brady, and Stuart Scott were to be critical, if anyone would accuse him of being a racist. Anytime I hear someone saying that a man gets a raw deal because of what "White America" thinks, I look back at the O.J. Simpson trial. If O.J had been a white man, and had not been able to play the "race card" because some bonehead cop used the N word, he would be in prison for the rest of his life.
I am not ignorant enough to think that there is not racism in this country. I am a white man married to an African American woman, and I have seen the stares we get, and have heard some very nasty comments directed at both of us from both races, so I know that racism in this country still exists within people of all races. However, to always try to say that a man is only accused of something because of his race makes a charge of racism nothing more then a cheap stunt, and belittles all of those who truly have been discriminated against.
Yes there are a lot of idiots out there that will assume he's guilty because of his cornrows, or because he's from the ghetto. My advice to you is too make your own opinions, and also wait. If he is found guilty, accept that. Don't come back later if he is found guilty and try to turn it into a racial thing. And if he is found innocent, maybe your opinion about "White America" will change.

Dude sad thing is you don't even fully understand what you are talking about. Know nothing about "politics"? Dude it isn't POLITICS it is LAW. The politics are meaningless. Next the fact that this is the Feds and they have a 90+% conviction rate should give you a warning. He was INDICTED. This isn't the same as a warrant for his arrest or being charged with a crime. This means they took some of the evidence to a Grand Jury and showed they had ENOUGH evidence to bring suspicion. This isn't like Nifong who is now openly admitting there was no real evidence(want to talk about using race?). How about the fact that there were fights sponsored by "Bad News Kennels" which will be further detailed in trial I'm sure. Yes Vick is innocent until proven guilty. Don't think he won't be proven guilty though. Don't think this is a "race" thing. This is a MOUNTAIN of evidence is being built and they are simply saying he has more then an uphill battle. Oh and want to talk about him burying himself further. How about that prepared statement? I want to apoligize to my mom for what she is being put through. Great comment when she was RIGHT THERE. Now he made HIMSELF look guilty.

I don't know what this has to do with politics, but I agree that people should withhold judgment until all the evidence is in. We don't need him to be found guilty in a court of law, as anyone may draw their own verdict, but everyone should avoid the rush to judgment until more facts are made public.
I disagree that it's race-based, however, and feel that those who play the "race card" are trivializing real race issues. I've little doubt that a white player, under similar circumstances, would be deemed equally guilty.
The information that has been made public seems to indicate that Vick knew what was going on and even participated. It may be a cultural thing to him, but in most of this country such behavior is considered animal cruelty.

Does it really matter. I agree with your comment, but people are allowed an opinion based on the current information-. Maybe facts will change in Vicks favor in a few months, but based on what has been presented Vick looks bad. Plus his most recent pass has not been to positive.
The reason I say it does not matter is if he is found guilty a portion of the black community will scream it wasn't fair. If he gets off even based on current information, the white community will be screaming.
Vick put himself in this position and where there is smoke there is fire and I would'nt be surprised if Vick is running around with flames. He will fit in well in hell!!!!
Perception is reality most often
Hey Lockdown: Thank you for showing your ignorance. In the court of law, yes he is innocent. In public court of opinion he is guilty. There is nothing wrong with either. Now go back to playing your playstation and leave the debating to the adults.

You can be 'tired' but you can't shut us up.
The court of public opinion and a court of law are two different things. Those of us, who despise what Michael Vick has done to all these helpless animals, will continue to decide for ourselves about what we think, and speak out if we choose to do so.
Look at your own generalising: "middle aged white people". How do you know that? But with all the evidence available to us at this point you want to say that Michael Vick is innocent until proven guilty?
A year or so ago, one of the 2 in the Montgomery Gentry duo of country music fame was arrested for abusing a bear he owned. He lost much support, and continues today, to try and bring the duo back to its previous popularity. Would you not say that most country and western music fans are white? Why did they turn against Montgomery Gentry, he wasn't black???
Sorry, your argument doesn't hold water.....

Tom Brady wouldn't get himself in that situation...There are eyewitnesses that claim Vick was present at dogfights...but the court will decide that...Vick will have a chance to defend himself, like every other American...Don't worry...
uthamanj...If Tom Brady was involved in dog fighting, his a ss would be grass, just as Vick's is...There is such a thing as image...and some people in the public eye are more thoughtful about keeping their image clean than others, such as Tom Brady who keeps it clean...and apparently Vick does not...

This is not a racial issue. Don't try and play that card here. Vick is an idiot who made some very bad choices. Call it for what it is and nothing more.
Maybe Tom Brady would be treated differently...not because of his skin pigmentation, but because of the fact he's a bigger name than Mike Vick. If it were Rex Grossman he'd be scruntized just as bad, if not worse, than Vick.

I don't approve of dog fighting because I love animals but this guy is right all the white people (and yes i am white but not stupid enough or blind enough to say Vick is guilty until he has gone through trial) would defend Brady til the end cept me I'm a packer fan. All his endorsements will go away and he won't be suspended because unlike Tank n Pac-man he isn't a repeat offender. Yes this is America land of the free a place were whether we like it or not you get to talk and say what you want, but its also a land set up on INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
