No. I think everyone is born heterosexual. Things happen in people's lives so through their environment and experiences some people live a gay lifestyle. I would say they make a conscience choice.

I thought this typically gay excuse from the 90s had pretty well been debunked by the medical community. It;s just another way for those who operate on the fringes of society to say "it's not my fault. I can't change, even if I wanted to." Some people just can't get away from avoiding responsibility for their actions. It's always something, or somebody else's fault. Of course the typical liberal attempt to shift to the spin zone is to say, "How ridiculas to think that sexual orientation isn't inherited. Why, everybody with a brain in their head knows that's how it is." I suppose if leftists were religious they would give it their best Flip Wilson imitation. "The devil made me do it."

Fed up American has stated his question to those who have only opinions. I was not born gay, I am straight but have many many gay friends. I enjoy their company, we talk about the differences in our lives. I am a mature Christian that attempts to be a light for them if they should ever have a spiritual need. I really don't care how they got that way they are human beings and God loves them every bit as much as you.

Just hit puberty, and decided i liked the look of a womans soft smooth legs more than a guy's hairy ones.
As far as gays are concerned, the more gay guys the better, because that leaves more females for me.

You choose to be gay when you choose not to go straight. I do know of gay people who have given up the gay life when they became Christians. They to this day still have no desire to be gay. I think in Adolescence young people become confused with their sexual identity and just assume they are then gay when it can be just a quirk in the growing up process. They get past it and are OK, but many experiment and assume that now that's what they are.

Never thought about it. I think the whole debate of choosing to be gay is silly. Who cares, I do not want to see it.

I think it is both. A choice in some cases and born in preference in other cases. Either way I don't care. There is enough hate, loneliness and suffering in the world with out telling people who they cant love.

In my case, I choose to be A-Sexual.
I choose to NOT have a personal or sexual relationship.
Since we all have free choice, we need only concentrate on OUR PERSONAL choice, with NO ONE having the right to say different.
That does not mean we have the right to force them to believe that OUR actions are right or wrong, nor does it give us power to decide their belief is wrong based on our own choice either.

Gay people choose to be gay.

Straight people choose to be straight.

Not all choices are easy.

Some people have issues with this decision.
