Let's make baseball what it truly is, a group of 30 teams each vying for the gold. I am tired of hearing the Yankee/baseball connection. Another not-so-well-known team deserves just as much recognition from the baseball world if it reaches the playoffs and wins the World Series. Put the Yankees where they belong - on par with everyone else.

To be honest, I'd actually be disappointed. Let me say I'm no Yanks fan, but I am a fan of baseball. By that I mean I love the game - the pennant races, league championship series, and world series. Like it or not, the Yankees add to this in a big way. Say what you like about having the small market teams adding variety to the post season, but it's mostly the local markets who remember those games (anyone outside of Missouri remember the KC/St. Louis series? What year it was? Buddy Biancalana?). But say Bucky F'n Dent, and you know what that's refering to.
As much as most hate to admit it, baseball needs the Yankees in the post season, and needs them back in the big show.

To be honest, I will be shocked. Shocked because it will be the first time they miss the playoffs since 1995-96. Not only that but it will also be the loss of their many consecutive division titles in the last couple of years.
And that will be a bit of a surprise.....

I would be happy the only reason they have good players is because they have lots of money you should get good players fairly. I agree with carlos619 GOOOOOOOOOOO A's yay
