It depends. Some drivers own their trucks and get paid by the mile or kilometer, others are paid by the hour or by the piece delivered. You had best contact the FedEx office nearest you to get an answer or ask one of their drivers.

A lot of FedEx packages are not delivered by FedEx; they are turned over to local contractors, who paint FedEx on their trucks. The driver is an employee of the contractor. Probably hourly, but no guarantees.
