They try to rewrite the history of Hitler as a right-wing movement, or in general, portray fascism as right-wing ideas.

But the modern liberal is: “Be politically correct”, “say what I tell you to say”, “accept sexually the way I tell you to accept it”, and "if you fall out of my lines, I will charge you with a hate crime or a lawsuit." This is fascism reborn, but it all comes from the left.

The same left who says you should have “an open mind” about all their ideas, but would not want to consider any ideas from the right could possible be true.

By the way... The term "Nazi" is short for "Nationalsozialistisch", which means "National Socialist". Remind me, who in the US is for 'National Socialism'? ...Oh yea, our buddies the Liberals.

Lots of emotion. Liberals live in emotion. They get worked up at every death in war, yet do not get it that people die in war, that is what it is for.

They are also obsessed with self. To a liberal, the individual is most important. They view the world from the perspective of me first.

The term National Socialist does not mean Socialism in the case of the Nazi party. Nazisism was and where it still exists, in small groups is quite right leaning. That does not make Conservatives Nazis by any means. It is merely a historical fact. Politics were different thenand are not really comparable. The truly open mind does not lump all liberals or conservatives into the same narrow confines.

Wow. 1. I think we could all go allot farther with intelligent debate if we dropped all this liberal vs. conservative B.S. Neither group thinks in lock step, both are made up of diverse individuals. 2. I notice you offer no sources or examples for the liberal rewriting of history. Like when Cheney said there were contacts between Al Qaeda and Iraq, then later said he never said it. 3. Yes, if I had any power to condemn G.W. for stealing two Presidential elections, ignoring warnings of terrorist attacks pre 9/11, invading Iraq based on false intelligence...etc. I would. Funny, but high treason irritates me. 4. Fascism is right-wing. Look it up. 5. I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it. If you have the right to be an idiot I have the right to call you on it. Regarding sexuality, I don't believe any liberal including myself would try to tell you that you have to be gay. In a free society you have the right to practice any form of sexuality you like. You have the right to say you don't like gays or homosexuality. If you went so far as to try to make homosexuality illegal you would then be interfering with the sexual preferences of others which would be unconstitutional, ill advised, unenforceable and, in the long run, doomed to failure. Respecting the freedom of your fellow citizens to choose their own lifestyles isn't a liberal "line", but a guiding principle of this nation since its inception. 6. Having an open mind is generally a good thing. Opening ones mind to ideas that close the mind sets up a very uncomfortable paradox. How tolerant should we be of intolerance? If the idea from the right is, for example: "Black people are naturally inferior." I would reject it out of hand and without hesitation or regret. 7. The root of the word Nazi is interesting but hardly a damning argument. Stalin called himself a socialist, but was in reality a fascist.

You are absolutely correct. Once, in a conversation with a college professor and a friend, the professor brought up the subject of homosexuals. While I in no way condone the mistreatment of these individuals, I do not agree with their lifestyles. I kept my mouth shut because he said that anyone who criticized homosexuals were "hatemongers." I was very uncomfortable. MY opinion did not count. Another time, a friend at the same university said that she went into an English composition class where the (openly gay) teacher commenced to read passages out of the Bible that she claimed supported homosexuality. After 20 minutes of the tirade, my friend raised her hand and asked whether they were going to talk about the subject at hand - English composition. You know, if a professorhad a Bible in class and were espousing the idea that homosexuality was not supported by the Bible, then all heck would have broken loos on campus. Liberals only use the Bible when it is convenient, as when Bill Clinton carried the Bible around with him so conspicously.

Hitler came to power when approximately 1/3 of Germany was out of work. This is the danger zone of socialism to take root. That is why it is so important to keep the number of people living in poverty low while balancing social programs with social opportunity. People in Germany were desperate for help just like they were here during the depression.

People are individuals. Our country is based upon the rights of individuals. Should everybody have the right to sue if they are mistreated? Yes indeed.

The nazis put that "socialist" part in to hoodwink the labor vote. It was never more than window dressing.
Demonizing opponents is an unadmirable human trait. It works both ways, but in the last few decades leftists have taken much more of it than they give.
On the open mind issue, leftists tend to say "leave others alone" rightists tend to say "you must not do that". I know I'm over-simplifying, but space is limited. And, for that matter, your question was over-simplified as well.

Liberals rewrite history? Hah - that's laughable! What is the conservative-based Creationism movement about? Yet another conservative ploy to rewrite scientific fact about the creation of our planet. What about the bible-thumping Conservatives who started burning books because of their content? Get real. You don't believe Hitler was a Conservative? Go back to history class and do some real research. As usual, a right-winger wants to twist the truth...

Right or Left. Seems irrelevant to me. It's what you do rather than what you say. John Edwards is another example. Two Americas. He lives in one and talks like he is for the other. All in the name of votes. There will always be someone who knows what's best for all of us. I hope we can see that before we vote them in.

to answer your question "What goes on in a liberals head?"

Too Much is my answer, liberals aka Democrats think too much. we think we can make everything better all at the same time.

Republicans see everything black or white IE War (good) Tax cuts for the rich (good) Health care for everyone (bad) Social security (bad) record oil profits (good)
increase min wage (bad)
