About 3 weeks ago, I purchased a used lexus as-is. The tranny went out 2-3 weeks later. Am I protected in any way? Let me know if you need more info.

The Florida Lemon Law (as a matter of fact, the lemon law in all states) covers only new vehicles, not used.

If you bought used, with no warranty, AS IS, if it fell into a million piece as you exited the lot, too bad. No, you are not protected in any way. AS IS means just that.

That is why all used vehicles should be inspected by your mechanic before purchase to find any hidden faults or problems. Even though it costs a little to do so, it can potentially save a whole lot, as you have found out.

Sorry but you bought it As-Is so that means that you are stuck with it. The Lemon Law wouldn't cover you because it wasn't a brand new car.

As-is means that you bought it in the condition it was, with no warranty. You are not covered under the lemon law program.

Do you know what "as-is" means? There was no warranty stated or implied. If you bought it from a lot, they had you sign something for sure. No matter where you got it I doubt have any legal recourse. You should've taken it to a mechanic to look at before you bought it.

Since it was sold "AS-IS" then no warranty was implied. I think that you are on your own with this one. good luck.
