First find the Transmission and then look for the Dipstick.
BUT, many of the Transmissions are going "stickless" not sure of your year model. It can be checked by the owner, but, I guess they do this to get people to come to the dealer. How this is checked is, there a Bolt that is removed like a top-off hole so the fluid runs out when it reach the bottom of the hole and then it is full. This the easy explain.
But, if you can get a manual at a parts store or try calling and asking you may learn more. Some Mechanics will offer free advice (They the real mechanics and have plenty of more major work). Some will make it sound complicated (They not good mechanics and need all the work they can manipulate).

The dipstick should be back by the firewall. If you have the owners manual it may give you a picture of where it is under the hood. It will also give you the procedure for checking the level. If not, then find a Chilton's repair manual and look it up there.

Search. It is there. Check a Chiltons manual. Local libraries have them and there is everything you need to know in there. I suggest checking one out or buying one. There is no gauge for transmission fluid, you have to check the dipstick (similar to oil) under the hood.

Sometimes there is no dipstick, and you will have to go under the car and find a threaded plug in the transmission the upper plug not the lower as it will drain it all, generally if you can stick your finger in just over the threads and feel fluid you are alright.
