Post a nice little reminder on the door, so he can see it before he walks in.

He always forgets cause he doesn't want to remember. Being very selfish.
I don't know your relationship strength with him but leave the mud on the floor and give him the mop and cleaning utensils to clean it up after he comes out of the loo.
Do it or "lose priveleges"or something else that only you can give.
He is either gonna clean it up and remember from now on, (because removing the shoes is easier than cleaning and he hates cleaning) or he doesn't care about you(and stuff you care about).
Another thing is leave a notice on the door "muddy shoes outside "his name" or maybe something like "the mud stays out or I don't put out"
Clueless, will clue in.

Be nice, don't nag, but do assign him the job of keeping the floor clean if he is the chief messmaker. It doesn't have to be a hard job, you might even leave a swiffer mop propped up in a corner of the bathroom to work his way back to the door.
You might also help him remember by greeting him at the door with a hot kiss and a reminder right then and there before he gets inside.
You could accessorize the area with a rug to wipe shoes on, or a mat or basket to store his shoes. He may not notice it but you can remind him that it's there.

In many Asian cultures, all shoes are removed before a person enters the house. Streets are dirty and you track street dirt into the house if you don't remove your shoes first. Tell everyone that there is a new cleanliness campaign in the house. No street shoes, including your boyfriend.

dont ask him to remove his shoes or get annoyed or say anything at all -- when he does that again -- just clean up the mess -- dont say anything abt the shoes -- do this daily -- within a few days -- he will realize his mistake and will remove the shoes before entering the house. just remember to clean when he is watching -- all that u need is patience -- lots of it!!

Next time he does it, when he comes out of the loo, hand him the mop and bucket and tell him if he cannot remember to remove the dirty shoes, then he WILL clean up the mess.
He'll either start remembering, or clean up after himself...either of which should be acceptable. âº

lock the door...simple... just lock it and tell him to take the shoes off... then he'll remeber the next time.. especially if he has to use the bathroom bad enough...
