I live in Bluffton, SC and I know we have traffic cameras. I am trying to figure out if there is a way I can see my accident online? I am looking online and only finding still images. The cameras are located all along highway 278 which is where I had my accident. I'm trying to find actual video not just images.

Call the police public information officer and ask for the procedure to make a public information act request. Get her name, title, address, fax number or e-mail. In your request, give the date and time of loss, your name & the name of the other drivers (if any), EXACT location the loss, and the police report number.

Request any and all video/still photos, and written reports. There will most likely be a fee for these items and the search which you will need to pay, probably before they do anything.

It is doubtful they have video on line coverage with the possible exception of streaming video in real time. Contact the highway department and ask if the video is saved and if you can somehow get a copy of your accident.

I am a contractor for a city here in TN and this city has Cameras, You would have to go to the citys street dept. to see if they will let you have a copy of it if it was caught on it. Some citys will and some won't. Good luck finding out.

call the municipality and speak to an officer about it. They'll have the information about where the cameras are and if its on cam. If they don't know then call the road department since they probably installed them.
