OK, trying to answer everything:
1. is it expensive? i'm not sure. depends what you plan on paying. In Australian dollars, Level 1 should be about $250, level 2, $500 and level 3, $1000. this is pretty fair. you are paying for your teacher's own training, knowledge and after class commitment to assisting with you with your development.
2. is it worth learning? yes, if you plan on integrating reiki's teachings into your life (precepts, breathing exercises, hands-on energetic work)
3. is it ok to learn from any master? of course, you will find the master who can deliver what it is you need. i would meet eith your teacher first, to check you can work with and learn from him/her.
4. how do we know that they are experts? well, there are many branches of reiki study. ask about them. ask about their energetic lineage to usui, ask for their understanding of the system they teach. ask if they know about new information that has come to light over the last 15 years from Japan. if there's anything they cannot answer, make sure the person can direct you to where you should be able to find answers.
5. is it possible to get cheated? of course, the reiki world harbours charlaitans too. the amount you par is not always indicative of the service you will receive, that's why you must find a teacher you feel a bond with.
6. can he teach everything in one day? yes, everything within level one can really be taught in about 2 hours, it's whether or not it is learned and practised by you that will make the difference.
7. what will they teach in different levels? this depends on which branch of reiki your master teaches but it should look something like this
level 1 - history, precepts, working on yourself (maybe others), hand positions, some energetic and breathing techniques
level 2 - working on yourself and others, some energetic and breathing techniques and some symbols and mantras to help you tune in to certain aspects of the reiki energy for specific purposes
level 3 - working on yourself and others, some energetic and breathing techniques, another symbol and mantra and the process of attuning others to the energy
8. how will you know they are teaching everything? you wont but make sure the course aaddresses everything in the list i just gave above. ask your teacher what will be in the course.
you will find a wealth of info at the following website:
www.reiki.net.au
the site owners are very heavily into quality reiki teaching, quality reiki learning and valid and reliable reiki research.
good luck on your journey

Reiki is different from Qigong but both are effective energy work to heal the body. "laying on of hands" as I'm interpreting this is massage therapy, which I specialize in. Now if the therapist is channeled all these modalities work well and can even be used together. I suppose the real question is what are you looking to heal in this character? If you're talking about organs you might want to look into reflexology which uses the hands and/or feet to mirror the body and can affect the organ health. Reiki is also good for that too as they are both energy work. Another form of energy work I've used is called Pranic healing (energy healing) You never touch the body but you feel the energy field from them and "wipe" off the old stagnate energy into a bowl of sea salt water and then build up weak energy. Does it take years to learn? No but some have a natural gift to heal so it's instinctive to do this work and once with these tools makes it easier to heal others. If the person doesn't have a natural gift it doesn't matter how many years they try to do this, it will never be as good as the natural person's gift. I have healed many people through channeling my gifts and automatically knowing what the person was feeling by feeling it in my own body. However I didn't protect myself enough while doing this work so now I have to work on getting rid of the junk I've collected over the years, that is now in my own body. I hope this helps the novel.

Reiki is really cool and simple. I learned it years ago and for no reason then stopped practicing it. What I can tell you is to be careful who you choose. Ask tons of questions if you are not sure. Talk to students who have taken the class with that particular instructor.
You may want to check out this website you will find a lot of answers and interesting articles for free

You can also buy a book called: The everything reiki book by Phylameana lila Desy, it talks about the different types of reiki and lots of interesting information. I am very fortunate to have a relative who is a master. She has giving me reiki in different occassions, and now I'm interested in taking the master courses.
I hope these two sources will lead you into the right direction. Live well!

If you can get the book "Essential Reiki" by Diane Stein is a very easy and thorough book. You will get a very good idea about Reiki.
To choose a Master/Teacher, have a meeting in person, speak to them, attend their Healing Circle and you will feel their energy, and if you feel comfortable with them then take a class and get Attunment from them.
I am a Reiki Master/Teacher. I am glad that I had a chance to learn. I use this energy everyday in my and family's life. I have a great experience, health benefit, breathing, protection, and more for myself, family members and taught others who have attended the class or the Healing Circle.

Susceptible persons may benefit from reiki as with other auto suggestive processes. Otherwise not very effective as far as I have seen of the practitioners in India.

It can be expensive. You will know when you have the right teacher and right price. I often teach a class and give the students 3 ammounts. it is up to them to gravitate to one of the ammounts. Masters vary from place to place but what you will learn if you get a good master, is priceless. Have a great day!!!

it's fairly expensive, but my may be worth it! research the master first just to make sure they are not fakes! ask to see certificates or if they worked with master cho? Master cho taught it but recently died. Also reasearch Master Cho and he may have a website of the people he taught!

In the first degree they teach abt healing ourselves

it can reduce the depression, destroy cancers, arthritis, diabetes, sugar n many other problems..
In second degree they teach us hw to heal others by giving energy to them. The vibs we people send to them make them protect frm the problem they have thereby destroying the problem.
