If Indians won then India would resemble China and its past. A collection of Feudal states battling for Supremacy. One must remember not all of India was united in this period of time. India could've descended into another Warring States Period thus allowing Westerners to try again to Divide and Conquer unless the Indians learned from past errors

Hello,

Based on their tenacity and behavior at that time the British would have got upset reading the news of the disaster at their breakfast tables, cried bloody murder, hound the politicians and send a big punitive expedition to retake that part of India and restore their honour and pride.

You saw my scenario 35 years later when General Kitchener re-took the Sudan in 1897 to avenge Gov General Gordon's fall at Khartoum in 1885.

Cheers,

Michael Kelly

The British would have won the great Sepoy punitive war in 1858!

Had the Sepoy mutiny succeeded the history would have been different. The country would have been a big one including Pakistan,Bangla Desh, Mynamar, Afganistan, Nepal , Tibet, Bhutan and probably Sri Lanka too.

India would have been a super power and the today's trend of immigration would have been in the reverse. Europeans and Americans would have been in the queue for immigrating to India.Hindustani and Urdu would have been the National Languages and No IELETS would have existed.

Queen Victoria would never have become Empress of India Other European States could well have tried their hands at conquering India. This might have meant no 'scramble for Africa' in the latter decades of the 19th century. India's development may have been put back 50 years. Another European power may not have given power back as easily as the UK did
