I have recently bought a new desktop computer which has vista basic installed. I had to have a new router to access the internet but now find that when I switch on my computer it is automatically connected to the internet. I have limited access with bt and this worries me. I also have no way of turning my connection off other than switching my router off. Has anyone else have this problem and have they solved it

Turn your router off.

Only the router side or switch off your computer

If you have a separate cable or DSL modem then you can turn it off instead of turning off the router.

Good idea from the previous answer. Turning off the modem would work.
