It really depends on the type of PVC you are using, i.e. PVC for hot water, PVC for exterior, cold water, etc. Each type has a glue to use. There's even an all-purpose glue that works on most PVC.
Before you put on the glue, you should use the pruple primer/cleaner. This is an alcohol-based cleaner that cleans most material from the PVC. This ensures the glue has good adhesion. After the primer has dried, apply the glue, push the PVC parts together, give it a slight twist, (which ensures the glue is spread across the entire circumference of the PVC and gives a water-tight bond), and let it dry.
good luck

Are you asking how to seal cracks or holes in the pvc? or are you asking for glue? whats wrong with the standard pvc cement? first the purple paste and then the clear paste wipe em on each other stick your pipe in and in a minute you have and nice strong waterproof seal. its pretty hard to separate pvc pipe that was glued properly. you made want new non defective pipes or a different type of epoxy

The pipe should be CPVC for water lines. The glue alone will not make a proper repair. As stated previous, cut out the bad section and replace using CPVC cleaner-primer and cement made for that particular kind of pipe.

Maybe I am misunderstanding your question, but it sounds like you want to use the glue as a repair. Don't. Cut out the bad piece and replace with new pipe and couplings. Use PVC primer and glue. The multi-use glues (PVC/CPVC and abs all in one glues) are no longer code compliant.

You can find PVC glue at home improvement stores and hardware stores. You should get the cleaner/primer also. I use emory cloth to ruff up the surface and get any dirt off of it. Then coat it with primer and give it a few seconds. I apply the glue to both the pieces to be joined, and then push them together with a twist. Then you have a good seal. good luck.
