i was getting ready for work and getting the kids up for school. Very scary day. I was actually thinking it might be a good idea to keep the kids home...i had just turned on the news.. which, ironically, i never watch. Just happened to be the day i did.

I was in college at the time. I was driving to class and heard about the second plane hitting from the Bob and Tom Show. I knew it was a terrorist attack (two planes don't accidently hit the same building), but I was thinking they were Cessnas or something, not commercial jets.
I got to class, which happened to be a computer class where we used laptops. I monitored what was going on over the internet during class. After class, I went to the Journalism building because they had a TV in the lobby. The first tower had already collapsed by the time I got there. Some girl and I stood watching in disbelief as the second tower fell.
I went as quick as I could back to my apartment and watched the news the rest of the day until I had to go to work that evening.

Hi! I was at home, and i was ironing clothes. I was standing in front of the t.v watching the today show! katie couric & mat lauer were sitting on a couch and i glanced at the t.v,saw the plane hit the building! I keep ironing! I would not allow myself to believe what i was seeing! so i keep working. (cleaning) untill i realized how drastic it really was.I sat in front of the t.v for days, i was almost in shock! It was so quiet outside,no planes,no people! It's amazing how much strength we all have, surviveing that tragedy. p.s I was just thinking, after all that we went threw in 9/11. and all the wonderful soldiers fighting for everyone of us.Why is it more important for the cable news stations to break in on an important news story , to show a live shot following nicky richie(i think thats her name) going into a court room! You would think people would take important news more seriously. You never know when important news will be taken away from us!

I am from Canada.....I was at school in Grade 4, playing football with my friends at lunch when a guy came up and told us that a bunch of planes in the US crashed, and that the Pentagon was hit and a church (I am guessing he was misinformed from the widespread panic or maybe heard about Church Street?) And he said a plane crashed in Pennsylviana and the World Trade Center was bombed, or a missle hit them and that they had fallen. When lunch was over we went back to our classrooms and our teacher explained to us what had happened, and that two planes had crashed into the WTC. I was so confused on why someone would crash air planes into buildings. Somebody in my class came in late and said that the parliament buildings and CN Tower was closed so that started a bit of a panic with us. It was such a sad and horrible day.

Asleep at home in the Pacific Time Zone. I received a phone call from one of my daughters in the Midwest. For the rest of the day I watched the scene of horror evolve. Two days later I learned of the confirmed death of two people I knew who were on the plane which struck the Pentagon.

I was just getting up and my husband called me. I still have flashbacks about seeing the 2nd plan hit the tower. Everytime I see a jetliner in the sky I pray for those who died and those flying in the air.
I work in city government and stayed home that day. I'm sorry now that I was too scared to go in, but I made up for it a year later when the whole family flew cross country to visit friends.

I was at home watching the News, and saw the first plane hit the Tower. I thought it was a commercial and in poor taste, When the second plane hit the second Tower, I knew that something tragic had just happened before my very eyes. I stayed glued to the TV and shed many many tears.

I was sleeping since it was 6am-ish when it happened where I live. A girl I use to be bestfriends with called me and told me to turn on the tv. I turned it on and listened for a couple minutes, but went back to bed. I was still halfway asleep so I couldn't comprehend what was going on. After I woke up my mom and I were watching the news together.

I was in my 5th grade classroom doing a project. We found out when they announced over the loud speaker. "There has been an attack in New York City. Put your T.V's on channel 4." So we watched it. It was horrific. It had to be the worst thing I had ever seen in my life. I feel so bad for the little kids who lost the parents and loved ones. My heart goes out to all of them.
