Isn’t it interesting that Bush said he would give Saddam the opportunity to disarm peacefully but Saddam didn’t have any WMDs to disarm his country of.
Bush continued to try to link Iraq with the terrorists of 9/11 creating an association, fear and anger against Iraq in the minds of most Americans. “The attacks of September the 11, 2001 showed what the enemies of America did with four airplanes. We will not wait to see what terrorists or terror states could do with weapons of mass destruction.” There were no WMDs.
Bush should have let the UN inspectors finish their inspections before forcing them to leave Iraq so that he could carry out his invasion.

"And, as a last resort, we must be willing to use military force. We are doing everything we can to avoid war in Iraq. But if Saddam Hussein does not disarm peacefully, he will be disarmed by force."
- George W. Bush, March 8, 2003.
"If we go into battle, as a last resort, we will confront an enemy capable of irrational miscalculations, capable of terrible deeds."
- George W. Bush, October 16, 2002.

He said that he had exhausted all avenues of diplomacy with Saddam but it is clear now that he was going into Iraq no matter what.

He gave them an option, they made a choice! Even if he did say that it doesn't matter because he did exhaust all avenues of diplomacy before the house voted to go to war!

What plan did you have in mind? Talking to Saddam?
You do know that official US policy was to remove Saddam from power before Bush even thought about running for office.

I do not have a web site for you...But 13 years of sanction violations by Saddam was pretty exhaustive...He agreed to follow them...then went back on his word. We stopped bombing him based on his word, we invaded based on his actions.
