I currently live in the D.C. area and my friend and I wanted to take a weekend trip somewhere we have never been. We were thinking to go to either Cleveland or Chicago, but we can't decide! What is there to do around these places, and how easy is it to get around with no car? Thanks!!

Chicago - hands down. Plenty of public transportation, and a lot to see: Millenium Park, Field Museum, the Chicago Art Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Museum of Science & Industry, a lot of neat shops, Second City (where most SNL cast members start out), Lincoln Park Zoo, Wrigley Field, etc., etc., etc.

Definitely Chicago - in addition to the above, Chicago has many free summer neighborhood festivals and public concerts and theater - get a copy of the Reader just before coming for great info.
