Hi, I work in a supermarket, i am a greeter on the front doors, so as you can imagine i come in contact with hundreds of people in a day. So in the evenings i love time alone, i don't like being alone all of the time i love to have my family around me but i do like a bit of peace and quiet in the evenings. When i am alone you will guarantee that something happens to me, i was alone in Cyprus for 4 days 2 years ago, the rest of my family had gone home(it was just unavoidable) and i was sunbathing at the side of a big black snake, also as i boarded the plane at Larnaca we had to evacuate as there were idiots on the plane trying to disrupt the flight(i will say no more), when i arrived back my family were waiting for me, my 2 adult children, and my mum and dad, the first thing my dad said to me was, "i cant leave you alone for a minute". It didn't put me off, sometimes i feel as i am always alone.

I like people and generally considered to be friendly but I do enjoy my "alone" time. I was at boarding school for about six years and appreciate my privacy and being alone more than most. My sister, however, who also went to boarding school with me, cannot bear to be alone and has to surround herself with people. I often wonder if those who always have people around have a fear of being alone and they are afraid to confront issues about themselves and use others to distract them from this.

I'm 49 and in the USA.
I live alone and like it, but I'm surrounded by friends and neighbors on a daily basis that care about me.
So I can walk alone, hold my head up and have fun too.
Do I do miss getting together with small groups of close friends.

I prefer to be alone. It's not that I'm not a people person, but at the same time people seem to get on my nevers too much. I am only around them when I have to be.

i understand what you mean...
i'm in high school and alot of girls go around in large groups instead of on their own in case they're classified as a loner yes it is quite stupid lol
i prefer being around people but not too many people....like in school the whole class sit outside and eat together...i normally walk around with a few friends as soon as i finished my lunch coz some people i just don't get along with and i hate talking to a large group of people.... and im comfortable with people i know well ...lol hope that makes sense
another thing i prefer being alone at home coz i hate my bro and sis and i just need "me" time sometimes lol
sorry for babbling on and on !

I prefer to be alone on an island in a fortress with 2 ft concrete walls, alarm systems, closed circuit TV, laser sensors and armed to the teeth.

Although I like people and am sociable I am completely happy with my own company. I never feel lonely when I am on my own as I have many interests and plenty of thoughts in my head. I am quite fussy who I like being with and I certainly don't suffer fools glady and I dislike being in the company of loud people. Incidentally I love my husband's company.

I love to be around people that are fun and talkative like me, but I do love my time by myself too. I don't mind being alone like shopping alone or eating lunch or dinner out by myself. Hey if you can't stand being with yourself who else is gonna want to be around you??? Right. My dad always told me. learn to be your own best friend.
