Maybe not our basic nature, but there have been changes
in morality, the perceived value of human life and the average
standard of living. In those respects we seem to be evolving,
which may lead to human nature evolving someday. We can
hope.

Human nature cannot change without a change in the human condition. The human condition has changed very little in past 6000 years.

I think the driving force behind human civilization has been primarily security. In numbers there is strength. From ancient times until the present. And although now we are beginning to look beyond ourselves to other species and the planet as a whole, I think the basic need remains the same. Not so much in the numbers but in the need to preserve our home.

i would say yes, in some important ways, just as we continue to evolve physically, and with our technology, we evolve our minds and spirit, and for humans i believe our "nature" is closely linked to these,
for example, today as a woman, while i work and take care of my home, provide for my family, i still have time , money, and resources to research, learn, contemplate things, develop myself etc etc ,
years ago, when/if i had to grow the food, bake the bread, walk everywhere, my behavior, attitudes and actions would of all been different, my mind development would of been different,
so we change, and what is considered "normal" changes,
the modern definition of human nature is "human nature is the range of human behavior that is believed to be normal and/or invariant over long periods of time and across very different cultural contexts"
so even the accepted definition of what human nature is changes

human nature is constant, just as the tide moves in and out, just as the sound wave goes up and down, so human nature sways between peace and war and will always do so.

yes, and it changed drastically, with Development of civilization people became more self informed, mobile.
However, there is dark side: more greedy, selfish, less respect to nature, people often don't think about consequences for their actions.
These sides are only small part.

Yes, and I think we're wired to keep changing. I've been thinking about population increases - how are people able to cope with increasing population density? Gotta be a mechanism that allows us to adapt.
