This is absolutely a fail proof method, however you HAVE to keep it away from your pets!
I noticed ants a couple of years ago, they tried to take over my house! Got into my pet food, my makeup! My toothpaste etc.
Take a spoonfull of peanut butter and mix it with Boric Acid; until it makes a paste. Apply a blob of the paste to a piece of cardboard and put it under furniture or appliances where the ants are. They will flock to it, I PROMISE, but it will take a little time for them to communicate where it is. They carry some of the mix back to the nest where it kills the rest of them.
U will have to refresh the batch every once in a while. Once they find it they will go nuts and eat till they can't eat no more! In my bathroom, I put the goop by the back splash of the sink, because they were in my makeup bag and toothpaste and such. None of my pets go in my room, so it was the best place to put the stuff out and watch what happened. I have to tell you, I was amazed! Good luck! Nana

Sprinkle some bicarbonate of soda along the ant trail and if you can find it, around the nest also. It would also be a good idea to put a little bit in the corners of the windows and a little bit near the doors and any other entrances you may have.
This has always worked for me and I have been doing it for over 10 years!!!
Hope this helps and have a great day!!

You already got plenty of answers but the boric acid tricks work the best and are the least toxic. I have used all of them at one time or another and been successful. I even went so far as while my baseboards were pulled when we redid the flooring in the kitchen and living room I put boric acid powder in the wall behind the baseboards before we replaced them. Haven't seen an ant along those walls in years.

Did you employ adequate talc powder? We used toddler powder in a thick line and that they does no longer go it. the different subject we are utilising is diatomaceous earth - it is totally risk-free (in basic terms be careful utilising it considering's a good powder and you may no longer inhale it once you're making use of it). it won't kill the ants suitable away - it may take some days. The microscopic crystals decrease the insect's bodies or dries them out. you are able to desire to hint down the ant nests too and then sprinkle the powder at as quickly as on the nests.

I've tried everything!!! The only way I've found useful is to see where (patience) they get in and put masking tape to block them. I have successfully taped 25% of my house (no kidding) ---and except for the odd one, I have no problems. If they are carpenter ants --beware! They can eat thru' so much wood, your house can shift.
