Let's see... you get along great, it's very important to have good relationships with neighbors.. and you are clearly an open minded and non-judgemental person! (Kudos to you!)
What's the worst thing that could happen? You could hate the music they're playing!
Think of this as an opportunity to observe and intereact with another culture. The cool thing is that you speak the same native language (as opposed to traveling to China!)

Don't tell them you'd be scared, tell them you'd be self-conscious. They will probably know how to put you at your ease.
If you are male, being invited to a party with gay men leads to the assumption that you are gay or bi yourself. If you are not, naturally you will be self-conscious. But if your friends introduce you with a line like, "Forget it, honey; he's as straight as a ruler," they will accept it in good graces. Nobody likes to be rejected, and if they know at the outset they are going to be rejected, they will not try to flirt. They may even enjoy talking to you, as you will be something of a novelty.
If you are female, you will be thought to be a "fag hag," or woman who likes hanging out with gay men. I am one myself, or have been in the past (don't know any here where I've only lived for a few months), and it's really a lot of fun. You can enjoy their company without worrying about anyone hitting on you. Except maybe the bisexuals. And a bisexual male at a gay party is in his gay side; he will probably be very discreet if he does flirt.

Pull one of them aside and just be honest. Tell them that you are not used to this and you feel a little out of sorts. They will assure you that things are ok...and just relax. Have a beer and sit back. These guys are probably more afraid of you, than you are of them.
I'm always on the other side of this issue....try being a gay man around a bunch of good ole boy hillbillies.....it will be ok...

I'm sure it is not a party where there are only gay men and women. Us gays have plenty of straight friends too!
There is nothing to worry about, just be yourself, and if someone says something which you interpret as them flirting, just tell them you are not interested, and most guys will not bother you.
There really is no reason to be scared.

Why worry?
They didn't invite you to go to bed they invited you to a party they are just probably just returning the favor for your kindness to them.. You can't be their only straight friend...
Go and have a good time and if it gets to uncomfortable then just go home and when they ask you later why you left, tell them you were uncomfortable, they will be cool with that too.. Gay People are just People and they know that even though you like them, that it is sometimes uncomfortable and they are cool with it, but everytime you see them and visit them things will get easier...so go and have fun......

Okay, so they are good enough neighbors to return your hospitality by inviting you to their party. I don't foresee any problems. Ask if you can bring anything - eats, drinks, condoms. Just kidding on the last one. The point is, relax and enjoy yourself. You can always excuse yourself early, but I'll bet you will have a good time.

They may be gay but I'm sure they are not all after you so I wouldn't worry too much. Put it this way you are straight and like women ..well that doesn't mean every women wants to jump on your dong and it's no different with homosexuals they don't want to jump on every dong ya know they have their own tastes and aren't robot's that search out penises. Just as sure your nervous I bet all their gay friends attending the BBQ will know your straight and will be courteous to you. Have fun don't be so scared!

You should go. As a gay man, when I invite straight people to a bbq, I tell my guests that might bother them that he is straight and off limits. They always respect that and we all have a very nice time. You will too.

if you get on with them, then what is the problem. though perhaps you might quietly express to them your anxiety...and then a way can be sought to aliviate your conerns. just because you feel like that is no reason to throw a good frienship out the window. Where there is a problem a solution can be found.
